5 street workout parks in Paris

Are you looking for a park in Paris to practice street workout outdoors? You’re in luck: the city of Paris has a large number of parks open to the public.

Summary :

Sports facilities are also widespread in these parks. Of course, it’s not possible to list them all here, as there are over 250 street workout facilities in the city. So we’ll just mention five here, including the Jardin des Voltiges, in the Parc de la Villette, which is no less than one of the largest areas dedicated to this sport.

Parc de Bercy (Paris 12)

Parc de Bercy is located on the Quai de Bercy in the 12th arrondissement. Close to the Accor Arena and Bercy Village shopping centre, it is easily accessible. It covers an area of 14 hectares and is open to the public every day at all times.

There are seven modules in the park. You’ll find the following spots:

  • rings,
  • a pump bar,
  • a pull-up bar,
  • parallel bars,
  • a horizontal scale,
  • an espalier tree,
  • a monkey bridge.

Parc Kellerman (Paris 13)

Parc Kellerman is located in the south of the Maison Blanche district, in the 13th arrondissement. It covers almost six hectares on three levels. It is open to the public every day from 8am to 5.45pm.

There are seven modules to choose from:

  • an abdominal bench,
  • a pump bar,
  • a pull-up bar,
  • a horizontal scale,
  • an espalier tree,
  • dips handles,
  • a monkey bridge.

Square du Clos Feuquières (Paris 15)

The smaller Clos Feuquières square is located in the 15th arrondissement. It is open to the public every day from 8am to 5.45pm.

Despite its limited surface area, the square is well equipped, with eight modules dedicated to street workout:

  • an abdominal bench,
  • a pump bar,
  • a pull-up bar,
  • parallel bars,
  • a horizontal scale,
  • an espalier tree,
  • dips handles,
  • a monkey bridge.

Square Ernest-Gouin (Paris 17)

Square Ernest-Gouin, formerly known as Boulay-Level, is located in the 17th arrondissement. It is open to the public every day from 9.30am to 5pm.

Once again, despite only 4,300 m², the Square Ernest-Gouin is well equipped with seven street workout modules:

  • an abdominal bench,
  • a pump bar,
  • a pull-up bar,
  • parallel bars,
  • a horizontal scale,
  • an espalier tree,
  • a monkey bridge.

The Voltiges garden (Paris 19)

How can we forget the Jardin des Voltiges? Located in the heart of the Parc de la Villette, the Jardin des Voltiges is the largest space dedicated entirely to street workouts. Equipped with professional equipment, the space alone occupies 1,540 m². So it’s the biggest multi-disciplinary sports area in France. It is open to all from 6am to 1am. Please note, however, that use is reserved for adults and users over 1.40 metres tall and over 14 years of age.

The sports area is divided into three zones, each with facilities adapted to one or more specific practices.

  • Zone 1 : street workout, musculation, motricité, cross-training.
  • Zone 2: outdoor fitness, health and ninja course, translation wall.
  • Zone 3: parkour.

Zone 1 is itself divided into dedicated areas. There are different types of modules:

  • Warming up and stretching,
  • Street workout apparatus for beginners/intermediates,
  • Street workout apparatus for experienced users,
  • Variable-resistance body-building equipment,
  • Cross-training type body-building equipment,
  • Various modules: boxing, jump & crawl, fixed double bars.

All this equipment allows you to practise different street workout exercises whatever your level. You can choose to work on your muscular strength or endurance, or both.

It’s also worth noting that tutorials are available throughout the sports area. So you can follow a training programme completely independently.

To conclude about street workout parks in Paris

The many squares and parks in the city of Paris offer a wide range of equipment for street workouts. Whether you take full advantage of all this equipment or bring your own, such as parallettes or resistance bands for example, Karkoa men’s and women’s sports bags will accompany you in your practice. The Tepee and Smartbag ranges make it easy to carry your sports gear and, if you need to, your work gear with you wherever you go, in separate compartments for easy storage.
