What to put in a women’s sports bag

All the essential content for the gym or swimming pool

There’s nothing worse when you arrive at the gym than realizing you’ve forgotten an essential piece of equipment. Your sports bag will not contain the same thing depending on whether you practice indoors, outdoors, in summer or winter, daily or occasionally. It’s important to take a few minutes the day before a workout to make sure you have everything you might need in your gym bag. In this guide, we give you some advice on how to properly prepare your women’s sports bag before training and be able to cope with all the situations.

The gym bag

Sport shoes

Do you play indoor sports? The minimum is therefore to bring sports shoes reserved for this use. You will thus preserve the facilities by not using the pair of shoes you take outside.

Sports outfit

Naturally, if a particular sports outfit is necessary, it must be present in your bag. The ideal is to organize your bag so that clothes and shoes are in separate compartments. different storage options, as Karkoa backpacks offer. If you have to carry specific or more bulky sports clothing, like a kimono for example, you will need to adapt the size of the bag.

Change of clothes

Don’t forget to bring a change of clothes. You sweat a lot during a workout and there’s nothing worse than wearing damp clothes. It’s the best way to get sick. Staying in shape isn’t just about doing sports, it’s about continually taking care of yourself, even down to the smallest details. Even if you don’t shower there and wait until you get home, use your change of clothes, you’ll be better off for it.

Sports accessories

It is sometimes necessary to bring other accessories than sports clothing and sports shoes. While some clubs lend equipment, it is often more pleasant to have your own. If your accessories are quite space-saving but heavy, the backpack is undoubtedly the best choice among all the models of sports bags. It will better distribute the weight on the shoulders and thus reduce fatigue during the journey. Consider making the best use of storage compartments in order to balance loads.

The pool bag

We often think that any sports bag is suitable since it does not need to contain anything other than a swimsuit and a towel. Nothing could be less true! To begin with, while you should naturally not forget your swimsuit, your pool bag should also be able to contain:

  • two towels: you can use one towel during the session to dry yourself each time you get out of the pool and keep it with you so you don’t get cold, and another which will be dry for the shower;
  • a pair of shoes: you put them in the bag instead of leaving them lying around in the locker;
  • and why not sports clothes if you want to be more comfortable when you get out of the pool.

Swimming accessories

It is not uncommon if you swim regularly to use accessories. A hat and goggles are common, but you may also have to carry fins or a board for example, which are more cumbersome. You will need to adapt the size of the sports bag to your needs so that you do not have to take several. Backpacks are very practical and often allow you to attach accessories such as fins using straps.

The waterproof bag

When changing, consider using small waterproof bags with a zipper. You will be able to safely place your wet or damp belongings in a storage compartment of your bag without risking damaging the rest.

The essentials of a sports bag contents

Whatever sport you practice, you must have a certain number of essential accessories with you.

Bath towels

Bring several towels. They can be of different sizes. The first will be used to dry yourself if you sweat during the session. As for the second, you won’t regret taking it with you when you have a clean, dry towel when you get out of the shower.

The water bottle

Whether you exercise to be in shape or to perform, you absolutely must remember to bring a bottle of water. During a workout, you will inevitably sweat and therefore become dehydrated. A bottle of water, possibly accompanied by an additive rich in mineral salts, will allow you to rehydrate, which will further reduce the risk of aches and pains during the following days. If you prefer natural products, you can opt for coconut water for example.

The lip stick

The lips are often the first to suffer from dehydration. Remember to take a lip stick to apply it at the end of the session. A lip stick fits in a pocket and you will never regret having one on hand.

The snack

To properly recover from a sports session, water is not enough. A snack will provide you with the sugars and proteins necessary for the recovery of your muscles which have worked well. You can opt for a protein bar (be careful to choose it carefully, so that it contains more protein and less sugar and fat), dried fruit or nuts, such as walnuts or almonds, or a banana. You need to recover, so do yourself a favor and combine business with pleasure.

The deodorant

Also think about deodorant, as natural as possible. Choose one that is applied directly to the skin and does not prevent perspiration. During the session, it will avoid bad odors due to sweating.

The little extras

The lock

If you practice in a gym with lockers, don’t forget to provide a padlock if one is needed. You will be able to carry out your sports session with peace of mind knowing that your belongings are safe. Also bring a bracelet or a pocket to keep the key or opt for a code padlock.

Wipes

If you put on makeup to go to work and head straight to the gym without leaving the house, pack some facial cleansing wipes. You will be able to remove your makeup before your session, which will undoubtedly be more pleasant than doing it after.

Makeup

If you have to go out after the session, or if you practice during the lunch break and then have to return to work, take a small makeup bag, just enough to give you a makeover after the sport.

The mister

A mist will help cool you down and take care of your skin if it’s hot. It’s a little extra which nevertheless provides appreciable comfort.

Moisturizing cream

A moisturizing cream applied afterwards will allow you to prolong the refreshing effect and maintain a luminous complexion.

The hair elastic

If you have long hair, keep several rubber bands in your gym bag at all times so you’re never caught off guard. You will then be able to practice your sport without being embarrassed.

The laundry bag

Finally, one or more small waterproof bags, closed with a zip, allow you to separate your different belongings while protecting them.
